What Is The Precision Casting Process For Water Glass

The use of water glass precision casting is very extensive, almost covering various sectors of the national economy. It is used in the chemical system to manufacture various silicate products such as silica gel, white carbon black, zeolite molecular sieve, sodium metasilicate pentahydrate, silica sol, layered silicon, and instant powdered sodium silicate, potassium sodium silicate, etc. It is the basic raw material of silicon compounds. In economically developed countries, more than 50 deep processing series products using sodium silicate as raw material have developed, Some have been applied in the fields of high, precision, and cutting-edge technology; In the light industry, it is an indispensable raw material for detergents such as laundry detergent and soap, as well as a water softener and sedimentation aid. It is used in the textile industry for dyeing, bleaching, and sizing, and is widely used in the machinery industry for casting, grinding wheel manufacturing, and metal preservatives. In the construction industry, it is used to manufacture quick drying cement, acid resistant cement waterproof oil, soil hardener, refractory materials, etc. In agriculture, it can be used to manufacture silicon fertilizers, In addition, it is used as a silicon aluminum catalyst for petroleum catalytic cracking, a filler for soap, an adhesive for corrugated paper, a metal preservative, a water softener, a detergent additive, refractory materials and ceramic raw materials, a bleaching, dyeing and sizing agent for textiles, a mineral processing agent, waterproofing, plugging, wood fire prevention, food preservation, and adhesive production. The following are the details:
1. Brush the surface of the material to improve its resistance to weathering
After the water glass solution is applied or impregnated with the material, it can penetrate into the gaps and pores. The solidified silicon gel can block the capillary channels, improve the density and strength of the material, and thus improve the weathering resistance of the material. However, water glass cannot be used to paint or impregnate gypsum products, because the water glass reacts with gypsum to generate sodium sulfate (Na2SO4), which crystallizes and expands in the pores of the product, leading to the cracking and destruction of gypsum products.

2. Strengthening soil
Inject water glass and calcium chloride solution alternately into the soil. The two solutions react rapidly to form silica gel and calcium silicate gel, which play the role of cementation and pore filling. Improving the strength and bearing capacity of soil, commonly used for foundation reinforcement in silt, sand, and fill, is called double liquid grouting.

3. Prepare acid resistant cementitious materials, acid resistant mortar, and acid resistant concrete
Acid resistant cementitious material is prepared from water glass and acid resistant powder (commonly quartz powder). Like acid resistant mortar and concrete, it is mainly used in projects with acid resistance requirements, such as sulfuric acid tanks.

4. Preparation of heat-resistant cementitious materials, heat-resistant mortar, and heat-resistant concrete
Water glass cementation is mainly used for the masonry and repair of refractory materials, while water glass heat-resistant mortar and concrete are mainly used for blast furnace foundations and other structural parts with heat resistance requirements.
