What Are The Casting Methods For Silica Sol Precision Casting

Casting is a very important step in silica sol casting, so what are the casting methods for silica sol precision casting?
1. Crystallization under pressure. Place the mold shell in the pressure tank for pouring, and after completion. Immediately seal the pressure tank and introduce high-pressure air or rare gases into the tank to solidify the casting under pressure, in order to increase the density of the casting.
2. Vacuum suction pouring. Place the mold shell in a vacuum casting box and suck out the gas in the mold cavity through the small pores in the shell, allowing the liquid metal to better fill the mold cavity and replicate its shape. Improving the accuracy of castings and preventing defects such as porosity and insufficient pouring is a common method abroad.
3. Precision casting refers to the general term for the process of obtaining precise dimensional castings. Compared to traditional sand casting, precision casting produces castings with more precise dimensions and better surface smoothness. It includes investment casting, ceramic casting, metal casting, pressure casting, lost foam casting, and hot mold gravity casting. This is a widely used casting form, which involves pouring the shell at high temperatures after being removed from the calcination furnace.
4. Precision casting, also known as wax loss casting, produces products that are precise, complex, and close to the final shape of the parts. They can be used directly without processing or with little processing. It is an advanced process of near net formation, directional crystallization. Some investment casting (using molds to cast) parts such as turbine blades, magnets, etc. If their crystal structure is columnar crystals arranged in a certain direction, their working performance can be greatly improved. Therefore, investment casting directional crystallization technology is rapidly developing.
The common casting methods for silica sol precision casting are mainly the four mentioned above. You can choose the casting method that suits you. Precision casting, also known as wax loss casting, has products that are precise, complex, and close to the final shape of the parts. It can be used directly without or with little processing, and is an advanced process for near net shape formation.
